Connecticut Senator: Get assault weapons off the streets

Sen. Chris Murphy, who was in office when the Sandy Hook Elementary school mass shooting took place, spoke to Katy about the challenges of changing gun laws. He says the difference between the US and other countries is that this country allows people with mental illness to spiral into taking an assault weapon into a school, and that Congress has to act to get those weapons off the street. He added that measures that Connecticut has taken have reduced their gun homicides by 40%.
