President Obama spends his first day in Israel meeting with President Shimon Peres and touring Israel’s missile-defense system, Iron Dome. We’ll have live coverage and insight from Sen. Robert Casey, D-Pa., former Ambassador Marc Ginsberg, and The Washington Institute’s Michael Singh. Plus, msnbc’s Richard Lui ‘drills down’ on how Iron Dome, the short-range rocket and mortar defense system, works and the role the U.S. plays in sustaining it.

Immigration reform is moving forward, with House Speaker John Boehner voicing support for the bipartisan plan taking shape in the House, and the Senate’s ‘Gang of Eight’ expected to unveil its plan next month. Even Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has come out in favor for a path to citizenship. We’ll go through the developments with Raul Reyes.

Strategists Chip Saltsman and Chris Kofinis tackle an age-old question Wednesday morning: How do some politicians survive scandal, while others wither? Former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, after leaving office amid the unraveling of an affair, got enough votes in Tuesday’s special election for a Congressional seat to take part in the upcoming run-off election. Our strategists will discuss how he staged his comeback.

Plus, we’ll take a close look into the Senate’s gun control bill and ask John Rosenthal of the organization Stop Handgun Violence how much of it can realistically become law.
