Chris Jansing continues to report live from the Vatican on this Ash Wednesday, where Pope Benedict XVI celebrates his final mass as the leader of the Catholic Church. He made his first public appearance since he announced his decision to abdicate, before a cheering crowd of thousands. NBC News Vatican Analyst George Weigel and Professor Elizabeth Lev report.

USA Today's Jackie Kucinich and Roll Call's Shira Toeplitz recap Tuesday night's State of the Union Address, where the President announced a host of domestic initiatives before making an emotional plea for gun control reform. Vermont Democrat Rep. Peter Welch will weigh in on whether the President can get the support he needs to move forward.
