Former vice presidential candidate and chairman of the House Budget Committee Paul Ryan unveils his new budget Tuesday, as President Obama continues attempts to strike a deal with congressional Democrats and Republicans. We’ll talk with The Grio’s Perry Bacon; USA Today’s Susan Page; Jill Zuckman, a former spokesman for Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood; and former White House Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto.

Business mogul Steve Forbes joins Jansing & Co. Tuesday to talk about gun laws, as the Senate Judiciary Committee continues debate on an assault weapons ban. The House will also hear from victims and law enforcement about gun trafficking crimes in a bipartisan forum Tuesday afternoon.

After weeks of speculation over who will succeed Pope Benedict XVI as the leader of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics, cardinal electors will, for the first time, have an opportunity to vote on a new leader. Chris Jansing is covering the conclave live in Rome. We’ll talk with NBC Vatican Analyst George Weigel, Lindsey Joyce, David Felton, Father Bartunek and Liz Lev.

Plus, the Senators charged with crafting legislation for an immigration policy overhaul have found some common ground on a path to legal status for undocumented people, but hurdles remain. We’ll get the latest from NBC Latino’s Raul Reyes.
