After what looked like budding compromise in the fiscal cliff negotiations, Speaker Boehner is back to playing hardball. He’s rallying votes for his “Plan B,” which would extend the Bush tax cuts for people making $1 million or less - a sharp divide with the President’s proposal to extend the cuts for people making $400,000 or less. Boehner told Obama it’s “game on:”

“The president will have a decision to make. He can call on Senate Democrats to pass that bill, or he can be responsible for the largest tax increase in history.”

Plus, are unions the next major player in the fiscal cliff negotiations? They’re out with an ad blitz on the need to protect entitlement programs targeting Boehner. Watch the ad here.

Adam Lankford, author of The Myth of Martyrdom: What Really Drives Suicide Bombers, Rampage Shooters, and Other Self-Destructive Killers is taking a deep-dive into the psyche of mass killers on Thursday’s New York Times op-ed page. He’ll talk about it with msnbc’s Chris Jansing Thursday at 10 AM ET.

And on the lighter side: Hasbro has announced that a gender-neutral Easy Bake Oven is coming to a toy store near you! McKenna Pope, the 13 year old girl whose petition got the toy maker to release a new design and include boys in their ads will be here on Jansing & Co. to talk about it.
