It’s the time of year for “Best-of” lists and Newsweek and The Daily Beast has a great take on an old standard: “The 2012 Books You Missed but Shouldn’t Have.”

Check out this one: Savage Continent: Europe in the Aftermath of World War II by Keith Lowe. They call it “The scariest book you’ll read this year.” And it’s non-fiction!
