A new report shows being President is an lucrative job - even after you leave office.

The nonpartisan Congressional Research Service says the government spent almost $3.7 million in pension benefits on the four former presidents last year.

Here are the four highest totals:

    • 4. Jimmy Carter: $500,000

    • 3. George H.W. Bush: almost $850,000

    • 2. Bill Clinton: just under $1 million

    • 1. George W. Bush: more than $1.3 million
