Anthony Weiner’s campaign manager has resigned following new revelations that Weiner sent sexually explicit messages to women online after his resignation from Congress.
Danny Kedem stepped down from Weiner’s campaign for New York City mayor over the weekend after new allegations surfaced that the former Congressman exchanged lewd messages under the nom de plume “Carlos Danger” with a 22-year-old woman.
In a joint-press conference with his wife, Huma Abedin, last week, Weiner said that he had warned that new exchanges might crop up but that he would remain in the race.
“Some of these things happened before my resignation, some of them happened after,” he said. “But the fact is that was also the time that my wife and I were working through some things in our marriage.”
Weiner had been leading Christine Quinn in the race before the allegations, but dropped nine points in the polls after the press conference.
