It's hard to go positive when your movement is based on a negative.Isn't that the problem with the tea party?   All their passion and energy, their very roots, are built on a "not" - "not" liking Obama, "not" liking taxes, even on the wealthy, "not" liking the government, "not" liking government period.This is the Tea Party’s problem - because it's the very "reality" of this movement.  It's not "for" anything.  So why would it be "for" a candidate?  It doesn't trust politicians, so why would it trust anyone who is a "politician?"And this is why we see the utter failure of the Tea Party set to read more

President Obama heads off on a bus trip to two red states he turned blue... North Carolina and Virginia. What's it going to take for the president to keep both states in his column next year? If he can do it, he should be able to win re-election. As the Occupy Wall Street movement grows in number and intensity, we're watching the candidates trying to get out in front of the protesters. read more

Victory lap: President Obama goes to Michigan. It's a state he needs to carry in 2008, and the auto bailout may help him do just that, despite much criticism from conservatives. The bailout was smart, effective policy -- not to mention good politics -- and the president deserves credit for it, especially when Mitt Romney, his likely Republican opponent, was pushing for something very different. read more
