Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is calling out Republicans who are “celebrating” the government shutdown.

The Nevada Democrat called Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and her allies who have been rallying around a plan to fund the government but delay President Obama’s Affordable Care Act “modern day anarchists.”

“They can barely contain their glee,” Reid said on the Senate floor on Wednesday. “This is what the Tea Party spokesperson said. And she is their spokesperson: Michele Bachmann. Remember, she’s the woman who ran for president and was the leading contender for about four hours.”

He pointed to Bachmann’s recent remarks on the shutdown. “It’s exactly what we wanted and we got it,” she said.

“You can’t make up stuff like that,” Reid lamented.
