Right-wing racial attacks are stinking up the campaign

Let me finish tonight with this. This campaign is starting to smell. I don't think it's going to get sweeter before we vote.

Let me finish tonight with this.

This campaign is starting to smell. I don't think it's going to get sweeter before we vote.

If the Republicans have the "Big Mo," as they claim, you have to wonder why they're out there dropping these stink bombs.

Why's Sununu, the biggest of all Romney surrogates, pushing this garbage on the president? Why's Palin out there with this "shuck and jive" stuff of hers? Why's Trump out there offering his big bet to see the president's student records?

Could it all be that ancient appeal to tribe? That ancient appeal, when the rest isn't quite working, to get people to vote along racial lines.

Well, just think, just for a few seconds: do you really think they don't know what they're doing? They don't know who they're talking to and what they want those people to do?

The nasty fact is they know exactly, just as Newt knew what he was saying all those times he called Obama the "food stamp" president, and Romney himself knew when he said his rival was going after the "welfare" vote when he called it Barack Obama's political base.

Nice work, guys. Real American of you.
