Poll: Most Americans back legal status for undocumented immigrants
Presidential candidates now have yet another reason to make immigration policy a key component of their campaigns. A new poll found an overwhelming majority of Americans support legal status for undocumented immigrants.
In the Pew Research Center survey, 72% of Americans agreed that undocumented immigrants already living in the country should be allowed to stay if they meet certain requirements. But the same poll found that 56% disapprove of President Obama’s handling of immigration policy.
