Democratic Convention - Day 1

The Democrats are in Charlotte, and while they may not be as energized as they were four years ago, the New York Times reports they are united around a common goal: denying Republicans total control of the federal government.

Tonight's headliner speakers include the immensely popular First Lady Michelle Obama, and the keynote address by the young mayor of San Antonio, Julian Castro.

The Democrats need to find a way to answer the question "Are You Better Off Now Than You Were Four Years Ago?". And they may have found a talking point -- but will it work?

Bill Clinton may have the best answer to that question when he speaks tomorrow night. Politico looks at the relationship between the former president and the current one.
