Southern Strategy: Mitt Romney looks to break his losing streak in the South. Newt Gingrich cancels events in Kansas to focus on Alabama and Mississippi. And now two new polls from Alabama show a split decision: Romney leads by ten in an Alabama Education Association poll, and Santorum is up four in a new Alabama State University poll. Meanwhile, Santorum's supporters want Newt out of the race for a one-on-one shot against Romney, but Newt's not planning on going anywhere, at least not now.

 

Rain on Newt's parade:  His victory in Georgia was historically weak for a home-state candidate.

 

GOP turnout so far is down from 2008 and 2000.

 

And a new report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says the number of hate groups in America is on the rise.
