If you a regular Hardball viewer, you’ll know of a few individuals who seem to make frequent appearances in the Sideshow. Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, and Sarah Palin surely make the list.
First, Congressman Louie Gohmert. The Texas Republican is no stranger to conspiracy theories about radical Islam taking over right here in the United States. Last week, Gohmert linked the Boston Marathon bombings to the alleged presence of radical Islam in the Obama administration.
“This administration has so many Muslim brotherhood members that have influence that they just are making wrong decisions for America,” Gohmert explained in an interview with World Net Daily.
Surprised that Gohmert is suggesting that President Obama may be in cahoots with the Muslim Brotherhood? Consider what the lawmaker said in an interview with The Daily Caller, published on April 26th.
According to Gohmert, President Obama “has advisers around him that do not have the same goal as he does. He has people around him giving advice who ‘support’ the Muslim Brotherhood and who steer him in wrong directions.”
Shifting gears to former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her beef with this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Though Palin did not attend the event, she did weigh in via Twitter. “That #WHCD was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns throw themselves a #nerdprom,” read the tweet.
It’s worth noting that Palin hasn’t always steered clear of the event. As the Washington Post points out:
”Palin has never attended the “nerd prom” herself, but in 2011 she showed up at both the Vanity Fair and msnbc after-parties. Her daughter, Bristol, went to the dinner while Palin spoke to a group of antiabortion activists…In 2009 the then-governor was scheduled to attend (as a guest of Fox News) but canceled her plans due to emergency flooding back in Alaska. Her husband Todd attended in her stead.”
