Forget 'Romnesia,' Nancy Pelosi prefers 'Mittology'

Nancy Pelosi is coining a new phrase: Mittology

Nancy Pelosi is coining a new phrase: Mittology

The House minority leader appeared on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Thursday night, where she ripped Mitt Romney for changing his positions, particularly on abortion rights.

“He’s a champion for women? Please,” she said.

“The president calls it Romnesia. I have my own—what I call Mittology,” added Pelosi.

Host Jon Stewart shot back, “Shouldn’t I be the one thinking up these very clever things? Let me just go write some laws.”

Obama, of course, began using “Romnesia” last week to characterize his rival as a flip-flopper.

“He's forgetting what his own positions are, and he's betting you would too," Obama said of the GOPer at a campaign stop in Virginia. "He's backtracking and sidestepping. We've got to name this condition he's going through. I think it's called 'Romnesia.' I think that's what he's going through."

Team Romney hit back, calling the term another example of Obama running a “small” campaign by basing his criticism on jokes.

On Friday, Hardball host Chris Matthews played the Pelosi clip and jabbed that Romney has a “tendency to forget what he said last year, last month, last week.”

Pelosi’s appearance on The Daily Show was her fifth.
