The Netflix original series House of Cards is generating plenty of buzz since the release of its second season trailer last week—especially among Hardball fans. MSNBC’s own Chris Matthews has a cameo in one of the episodes featured in the trailer.
Mum is the word on the episode details featuring Matthews, but House of Cards representatives say the second season continues with Rep. Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire’s (Robin Wright) ruthless political ambitions as they eye up the vice presidency. The trailer shows Matthews interviewing a fellow reporter on a scandal that may involve the White House—but no word on if the plot links back to the Underwoods.
Matthews did rave about the experience of filming the episode, especially since he got to work with Robin Wright as his director.
“We had so much fun doing this,” he says.
The second season of House of Cards releases in its entirety on February 14, 2014.
