This week is Bob Filner’s last as mayor of San Diego.

The 70-year-old Democrat, embroiled in accusations that he made unwanted sexual advances toward at least 18 women, has reached a deal with the city to resign, according to NBC News San Diego.

City attorneys have said they won’t release details of the negotiations until after they are presented to the city council on Friday afternoon. Sources said Filner will formally vacate his office following the session with city lawmakers.

A video taken on Wednesday night reportedly shows Filner leaving City Hall and loading boxes into a black SUV.

Talks have been ongoing for the past three days between Filner, attorneys, and city leaders. They were being mediated by Judge Lawrence Irving, a former district court judge. A primary special election will be held within 60 to 90 days and Council President Todd Gloria will serve as acting mayor under the city charter.

Until Thursday, Filner repeatedly refused to step down, despite calls from the San Diego County Democratic Party and Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The mayor had initially admitted he has a problem and enrolled himself in a two-week “intensive therapy” program on July 29,  but said he was able to finish it  early on Aug. 10 and would continue with outpatient treatment.

High profile attorney Gloria Allred—who is representing one of Filner’s accusers—is holding a press  conference on Thursday afternoon.
