Top Pediatrician says detained children need their mothers
Dr. Colleen Kraft, President of the American Academy of Pediatrics, comments on the medical conditions of the detained children separated from their parents: "The long term impact with this type of trauma can affect their ability to learn -- they can drop out of school, they may not do well in school, it puts them at risk for substance abuse, it puts them at risk for heart disease, Cancer, other chronic long term diseases."
