SCOTUS lets LGBT rights take huge step forward

This week LGBT rights took a huge step forward as the court affirmed that same-sex marriages will now be recognized by the U.S. government. But at the same time, the court gutted the Voting Rights Act by striking down section four – essentially the heart of the act’s enforcement of equal protection of voting rights for every American. Founder of The Advancement Project Penda Hair, Professor at NYU School of Law Kenji Yoshino, and Executive Director of Color of Change Rashad Robinson all joined the discussion.Jun.29.2013
