SCOTUS lets LGBT rights take huge step forward

This week LGBT rights took a huge step forward as the court affirmed that same-sex marriages will now be recognized by the U.S. government. But at the same time, the court gutted the Voting Rights Act by striking down section four – essentially the heart of the act’s enforcement of equal protection of voting rights for every American.
