We’re following the latest developments in Turkey, where riot police are using water cannons and tear gas to push protesters out of major sections of Istanbul. Prime Minister Erdogan says the protests are part of an attempt to damage Turkey’s image globally.

In the opinion pages: Kentucky Senator Rand Paul objects to the federal government’s “unlimited and privileged access” in The Wall Street Journal.  The New York Times’ David Brooks says Edward Snowden is “oblivious” to the damage he has done.
