Immigration reform takes center stage on Capitol Hill Tuesday. The House Judiciary Committee will hear from a list of witnesses that includes San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, the keynote speaker during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

In Tuesday’s opinion pages: The New York Times Frank Bruni and The Washington Post’s Michael Gerson offer their unique takes on the new rules proposed for the Obama administration’s contraception policy. Michele Flournoy, considered a finalist for the cabinet nomination that ultimately went to former Senator Chuck Hagel, talks about a spending cut strategy for the defense department in The Wall Street Journal.

President Obama is playing host to leaders of progressive and labor groups in the morning and business leaders in the afternoon. In the morning session: NAACP President Ben Jealous and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. Goldman Sachs Chairman Lloyd Blankfein will join more than a dozen CEOs in meetings late Tuesday.
