The future of nominations for John Brennan and Chuck Hagel now rests with the Senate. Both men are waiting for committee votes before the full senate could take up either of President Obama’s picks.

In the opinion pages: The New York Times’ Paul Krugman voices his support for common phrase on capitol hill…kicking the can down the road. The Washington Post’s Charles Krauthammer  tells Republicans it’s time to “call Obama’s bluff” on the sequester.

A new Quinnipiac poll is the latest to confirm Hillary Clinton’s national popularity. The former Secretary of State has a 61% approval rating, ten points ahead of President Obama.
