All In Agenda: The politics of Obamacare

All In Agenda for April 23, 2014.

1. The latest New York Times Upshot/Kaiser Family Foundation poll shows that Obamacare can be a winning argument for Democrats in tight Senate races in the South. We'll discuss with Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, Democratic candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania, and former Governor of Vermont and former chairman of the DNC, Howard Dean

2. Duke Energy, the largest electric company in the nation, is under fire after a massive spill in February contaminated 70 miles of North Carolina's Dan River. Responding to calls from environmental groups to legally require the company to move its coal ash away from lakes and rivers in the state, Duke Energy's president said that the cost to do so would be up to $10 billion, it would take decades, and it would have to be footed by the company's customers. We've got the story, and how it weighs on one of the hottest Senate races in the country, tonight with Chris Kromm, executive director of the North Carolina-based Institute for Southern Studies.

3. "The American middle class is no longer the world's richest," The New York Times reported, based on figures from the last 35 years. Charlie Pierce, writer at large for Esquire Magazine and Political Blogger for Esquire.com, is here to discuss how middle-class families are paying the cost of growing income inequality.

4. Plus, Michael Lewis joins All In to talk about high-speed trading and his new book, Flash Boys.
